Dan McKie manages to defy the cliché of genres by producing across the board, be it a underground techno, tech house monster to a peak time commercial dance chart track.
He continues to remix the likes of The Whip, Stonebridge, Rogue Elements, Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Lady GaGa, Carme Electra, Colton Ford, The Ones. As well as remixing he also releases on such labels as Southern Fried, Stoney Boy, Joia, Positiva, Skint, Ego, Warner Bros, Sony, Universal, Columbia, EMI, RCA/BMG as well as his own imprints 1980 Recordings.
Over the years Dan has released records on on a plethora of big labels including Pacha Recordings [Ibiza], Dojo Music, Ego Records, Southern Fried to name a few.
He currently collaborating with Roger Sanchez, Thomas Gandey, Rui Da Silva, Tom De Neef, Alex Preston, Luca Lento and more in the pipeline.
Since 2011 Dan has been a regular over on the White Isles of Ibiza with residencies at Hush, Viva!, Carl Cox's Sands Beach Bar in Playa Den Bossa and also Cafe Mambo of which you can hear him around the world on BFBS radio for HeavensGate with Neil Moore as the official Ibiza House Music Resident DJ 2013 recorded live from the Cafe Mambo studios. Dan has toured regularly over the past few years for Pacha Recordings [Ibiza] including gigs in Egypt, UK, Germany and more. Aswell as this he has DJed as Dan McKie in not just the above venues but in many clubs/festivals & bars across several continents over his 17 years as a DJ.
Dan runs his own successful record label, 1980 Recordings, which has seen releases from the who’s who of the electronic music world. In January 2013 1980 Recordings saw its 100th release hit the stores which has resulted in the label now being a regular feature on Beatport, TrackItDown and more.
Currently Dan is an Ibiza Resident that DJ's and produces house and techno music across all of 4x4 genre. Be it laid back beach vibes to club dance floors, Dan McKie can keep the floor busy and entertained.
Dan McKie is an eccentric, approachable and talented producer who manages to share his passion for electronica on the dance floor and in the ears of the iPod listener with his unique/energetic blend of genre defying DJ sets.
With 26k+ plus fans on Facebook (they can't all be wrong), he is also Fatboy Slim approved with tracks and remixes on Southern Fried plus various FBS compilations (most notably the mixmag cover mount cd)
