Gabin is a project that started its activity in the electro -lounge- jazz scene, back in 2002, by musician and producer Max Bottini and the DJ and producer Filippo Clary. Since then, Gabin has become a laboratory of constantly changing ideas , sounds and experiments.

The first self-titled album had a big impact on the international markets and was released in many countries.

The second album, "Mr. Freedom" , achieved a stunning record for an Italian album : four different tracks from the same album were synchronized in four different movies, including "Monster in Law" ( starring Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda ) and " The Fantastic 4 ", as well as an incredible number of episodes of "Six Feet Under" and "Grey 's Anatomy".

The third album "Third and Double" saw, once again, an interesting change of direction in sounds which led to broaden horizons .

Along the way there have been many encounters, exchanges, discoveries, confirmations. First of all the featuring of one of the most important voices on the jazz scene, the Grammy and Tony Awards winning Dee Dee Bridgewater who sang the hit single "Into My Soul". Then Mia Cooper, great performer as well as author of many lyrics; the amazing Flora Purim, one of the brightest stars of Brazilian and international music, who collaborated with artists such as Gil Evans, Stan Getz , Chick Corea, Dizzy Gillespie and Airto Moreira ; the unforgettable Edwyn Collins of “A girl like you” fame; the extraordinary talent of the Anglo Caribbean Zee Gachette (aka Z-Star) who stormed the recording studio like a hurricane; Gary Go, a promising young Englishman who, with his impeccable crooner style, wonderfully performed a soft roman walk like “City Song”; Nadeah Miranda, the Nouvelle Vague blonde chanteuse, and last but not least , as they say, the unmistakable voice of a world rock star like Chris Cornell who enthusiastically committed himself to sing “Lies” one of the most personal and intimate songs of the album.

After the first ten years of intense activity, in 2012, Gabin have released the first collection of their hits "Gabin – The First Ten Years” which has been licensed in Russia and CIS, Poland , South Korea , Thailand, Greece and Cyprus , Turkey , Hungary, Bulgaria , Spain, South America, Israel , GSA and the United Kingdom, Scandinavia and Finland, France , Singapore, Malaysia , Hong Kong and Taiwan, India , Arabia and the Middle East.

The list of collaborations also includes Ace of the Skunk Anansie who played guitars on a stunning acoustic version of " Lies" with Chris Cornell on vocals and Mozez, former front man of Zero7, for a brand new version of "Keep It Cool"; both tracks are included on “TAD/Replay”, the most recent album, which was released in Italy with an amazing impact on the market, holding the # 1 spot of the iTunes jazz album charts for three consecutive weeks.

At the end of 2012 a new achievement: the synchronization for the Dreamworks animated film "Rise of the Guardians" with the song “Bang Bang To The Rock ‘n’ Roll” which got again attention by media, following the release of “The First Ten Years”, and early in the new year (2013) the NBC TV series “1600 PENN”.

The impact on the silver screen suggests an inclination to a melodic fresco which is clear since their first eponymous work, whereas the instrumental tracks are those which really lead the album, starting with “La Maison”, which originated the whole project .

With “Soundtrack System” this vision prevails and Gabin, with the only featuring of Zee Gachette , are carried away by the spell of sound to sink themselves into a new horizon where the charm of jazz , soul and electronics are combined in such a way to compose an unusual innovative alchemy

Some info:

The music of Gabin goes beyond the national borders and catches the attention of an audience in search of refined sounds and appealing atmosphere. Polaroid (U.S. & Canada ) - "Doo Uap"

HBO (USA ) - "Doo Uap"

Pantene (USA / SOUTH AFRICA ) - "Doo Uap" Renault-Samsung (Korea ) - " Sweet Sadness"

It is difficult to list the countless number of worldwide compilations that required and released songs by Gabin (Hotel Costes/Milano Fashion/Rifili/Montecarlo Nights, just to name a few), as well as important American fiction TV series such as Six feet under, Sex in the city, Grey's Anathomy, Six Degrees and Ugly Betty on ABC TV.

From the music production point of view, Gabin take part in the double tribute album that Capitol Records dedicated to Peggy Lee as the only guests who are granted the privilege to remix the legendary "Fever", by using, for the first time ever, the original Capitol Masters of this timeless hit. This remix will then be further included in the tribute album to Henry Mancini and his Pink Panther soundtrack.

Among the remixes, definitely to be mentioned the one for the Blue Note artist Marc Moulin, a remix of the hit "Into The Dark" released in a special edition album of the prestigious Blue Note jazz label.
